The FAMOUS East Coast FORD vs. CHEVY Funny Cars Return for 2013
Frantic Entertainment Group and Al Liebmann have joined forces with Pirrone, Ellershaw and Musser Racing and will be campaigning the 1969 1/2 version of the Frantic Ford AA/FC as part of the newly created "Classical Nitro AA/FC" group with Rocky Pirrone at the helm. Former NHRA World Champ Bruce Larson will be at the wheel of his 45th Anniversary USA-1 Tribute Chevy Camaro Funny Car.

The Frantic Ford & USA-1 feature the new nostalgia funny car chassis and have period looking fiberglass bodies with all the latest safety equipment making them legal to run at all NHRA tracks.

  • The Frantic Ford was constructed by fabricators Steve Gruenwald and Dale Smith at Coyote Composites in Jupiter, Florida. It now sits in Philadelphia getting paint and other details.

  • The Frantic Ford '69 body was taken from a mold from the original Gas Ronda 1969 Ford Mustang.

  • The car will be completed by the end of February 2013.

  • First scheduled appearance will be the NHRA Tire Kingdom Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida in March 2013.

When asked about his early memories of the Frantic Ford funny car Rocky commented, "It's funny. The Frantic Ford Mustang was the first funny car that I ever worked on as a nine year old kid, helping Jimmy Fox with between round maintenance. My dad Joe built the transmissions for this car and having the chance to bring it back to life is something I am looking forward to."
