2011 Schedule
It is with deep regret that we must inform everyone that the Mustang II will be out of action for the remainder of the 2011 season. After making our best pass of the season (6.999) at Englishtown, we suffered a serious engine explosion and subsequent fire going through the lights. With the connecting rods exiting the block and a snapped off fuel pump, there was an ample amount of fuel and oil to feed the fire that led to the demise of the beautifully painted Mustang II body.
Our efforts to rebuild are already underway with hopes of having the Frantic Ford entry ready for active competition at the start of the 2012 racing season. We want to thank all of our marketing partners, legions of fans and well wishers for the support we have received since this untimely on-track incident. "Team Frantic" vows to come back better than ever and once again go out and try to put on the very best show we can for all of the funny car fans out there.
Last, but certainly not least, we wish to thank the entire safety crew at Englishtown for their outstanding efforts and rapid response from keeping the car from being a total loss.
More updates will be posted as they become available. Once again, "thank-you" to everyone for your continued support of the Frantic Ford Funny Car Team.
